  • Passengers are greeted at the airport in Brussels and transferred to our hotel in Ypres, Belgium. In the evening there is an introduction to the tour and a chance for the passengers to introduce themselves over a welcome drink.

  • We tour the city of Ypres, the focus of several key battles in World War I. The Flanders Fields Museum is the highlight of our afternoon program along with the Menin Gate ceremony.

  • We explore the battlefields around Ypres, taking in the monuments, museums, trenches and key sites such as Hill 62. A visit to the Kemmel American Monument highlights the afternoon’s activities.

  • To start the day we pay our respects at the Flanders Field American Cemetery. We then visit the Advanced Dressing Station, Essex Farm, Ypres Salient and other sites.

  • We honor the Canadian contribution to the war by visiting Vimy Ridge, taking in the Vimy Memorial Park, Hill 145, the Canadian National Vimy Memorial and the Newfoundland Memorial Park.

  • One of the deadliest battles in history is the focus of the day as we explore the Battle of the Somme. The Lochnagar Mine Crater Memorial, La Boisselle, the Thiepval Memorial and Museum and the Somme American Cemetery and Memorial highlight the day.

  • The day’s highlights include a visit to the Chateau-Thierry American Monument, Hill 204 and the Belleau Wood Marine Monument. On the way to Verdun, we stop at the Butte de Vauquois.

  • No World War I tour would be complete without a visit to the stronghold of Verdun. We visit the Verdun Museum, Fort Douaumont, the Trench of Bayonets, the Montfaucon American Monument, and the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial.

  • The events of World War I led the French to set up the formidable, if incomplete, Maginot Line. We spend the day exploring a relic installation of this defense system including Fort Hackenburg, which Patton attacked in 1944.

  • In the morning we travel to Reims and take in its world-famous cathedral. In the afternoon we continue our journey to Compiegne to see where the 1918 Armistice was signed.

  • After saying good-bye our guests are brought to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris for their return flights.
