You won’t need money for breakfast. You won’t need money for lunch. You won’t need money for dinner. Breakfast is buffet style at the hotel, and includes drinks. Lunch and dinner come with one drink each (soft drink, wine, beer, juice, or mineral water). The bus is paid. The rooms are paid. Even the tips are paid. We help you with the luggage.

We transfer you from the airport to the hotel once you arrive, and drop you off at the airport when it’s time to leave. While we’re on the bus, you can help yourself to soft drinks and water. All structured activities, such as museum visits and guided tours, are paid for. You will probably want to buy souvenirs. Some of the museums we visit offer original and replica World War 2 items, as well as books and other materials you’d expect to find in a gift shop. You won’t have to worry about high pressure sales promotions, however. There is no pressure to buy expensive trinkets or photos with a parrot on your shoulder. In short, Procom's tours are designed for the mature, savvy traveler who loves history and wants to see Europe with other people who feel the same. PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: extra drinks at dinner, extra hotel costs like mini-bar or pay-TV, travel from the US to Europe and return.









Details

Day 1: You are greeted at the airport in London and transferred to the hotel in Swindon. In the evening there is an introduction to the tour and a video session introducing the witnesses the group will meet the following day. Dinner at the hotel follows.

Day 2: The group travels to Littlecote House, headquarters of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in England in 1944. You see Colonel Robert Sink’s office and explore the grounds. Local people join the group to share their memories of this period. We then travel to the English Channel and board the ferry that takes us to the Normandy Coast. Dinner is on the ferry. We disembark in Ouistreham and travel to the hotel.

Day 3: The day starts with a visit to the town of Carentan and its Dead Man’s Corner Museum. After lunch in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, we pass by Brecourt Manor, site of Easy Company’s famous assault on German artillery. This is followed by a tour of Utah Beach, its museum and Pointe du Hoc, where Rudder’s Rangers ascended the steep cliffs to take out the long-range cannons.

Day 4: Our second day in Normandy begins with a trip to Omaha Beach and the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. After lunch in view of Gold Beach and the remains of the Mulberry Harbor in the coastal town of Arromanches-les-Bains, we visit the German battery in Longues-sur-Mer. We then tour other sights along the coast as time permits.

Day 5: After breakfast in Normandy, we travel to the Netherlands to the city of Nijmegen. Passengers enjoy onboard entertainment, including videos of the people we meet in Holland who have personal stories to tell about life under Nazi occupation and the famous battles to liberate the country.

Day 6: The sixth day of our tour explores the bold attempt by the Allies to end the war quickly through Operation Market Garden. The morning features a brief drive along the famous dykes that figured in so many battles for control of the region. We then tour the National Liberation Museum. In the afternoon we depart for Belgium’s Ardennes Forest and spend the night in the town of Bastogne.

Day 7: In the morning we travel to the neighboring country of Luxembourg to take in the remarkable collection and displays of the National Military History Museum. We then return to Bastogne, where the 101st Airborne defended the besieged town during the Battle of the Bulge. We visit the Mardasson monument, which pays tribute to the Allied resolve during this critical period. The foxholes of Bois Jacques highlight the afternoon itinerary. We meet WWII witnesses for dinner.

Day 8: The eighth day of our tour involves travel to Bavaria. On the way, we stop in Hamm, Luxemburg for a visit to the American cemetery, the final resting place of many Easy Company soldiers as well as General George S. Patton. The group checks into the hotel outside of Munich.

Day 9: In the morning we visit the infamous Dachau camp, which features a full-scale museum detailing Nazi atrocities. In the afternoon we take a Third Reich sightseeing tour of Munich. You experience the city as the birthplace of the Nazi Party, with visits to the official Nazi Headquarters, and the location of the Beer Hall Putsch street battle.

Day 10: The last full day of the tour involves a trip to Berchtesgaden, site of Hitler’s Bavarian retreat, the Eagle’s Nest, which was captured by Easy Company at the end of World War II. We start with a visit to Dokumentation Obersalzberg, an exhibit set atop Hitler’s bunker complex. We then take a scenic drive up to the Eagle’s Nest itself, where we also have lunch. We travel back to Munich for the farewell dinner.*

Day 11: Day 11 involves travel to the beautiful city of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Along the way we show you the Oscar winning movie Schindler's List, Steven Spielberg's award-winning film about the Holocaust in Central Europe. After settling into our hotel in Prague, we take a walking tour of Josefov, the Jewish quarter of Prague that includes the famous Jewish cemetery.

Day 12: The twelfth day of our tour brings us to the small Czech town of Terezin. A former Nazi concentration camp used as a propaganda tool by the Nazis in order to dispel rumors about the extermination camps, more than 80,000 Jews died here at the hands of the Nazis. In the afternoon we return to Prague to enjoy a walking tour of this beautiful capital.

Day 13: After a good night's sleep, the group travels through the Czech and Polish countryside on our way to the beautiful city of Krakow, one of Poland's most historic and scenic towns. We arrive at our hotel in the late afternoon, with the rest of the day free to explore the city or rest up for the next day's busy schedule.

Day 14: We start the day with a walking tour of this city that was the Polish capital for more than 500 years. Among the sites on our tour are the beautiful Royal Castle and the Renaissance Cloth Hall. After lunch in Krakow, the coach takes us to the breathtaking Wieliczka Salt Mines, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lying on nine levels and concealed under the town, the mine reaches down to the depth of 327 meters (1,073 ft). The site consists of nearly 300 kilometers (186 miles) of corridors and almost 3,000 chambers.

Day 15: Our last day in Poland will take us to the infamous concentration camp of Auschwitz. Birkenau, Auschwitz's notorious extermination camp, accounted for the death of more than a million Jews, Roma, POWs and political opponents from across Europe, and stands as a testament to the 20th Century's greatest atrocity. The day's events include a visit to the labor camp and its piles of personal possessions stripped from the camp's prisoners, followed by a trip to the reconstructed horrors of Birkenau.

Day 16: The sixteenth day of our tour brings us to the capital of Hungary - Budapest - the heart of Central Europe. The journey takes us through the majestic Tátra Mountains of Slovakia. After check-in and dinner, the coach takes us up Gellért Hill to the city's Citadel for a beautiful view of Budapest by night.

Day 17: We start the day with a walking tour of the Jewish district, which includes a visit to the Dohány Synagogue, the largest synagogue in Europe and second largest in the world. After lunch, we continue our sightseeing tour of Pest by bus, further exploring this capital and all of its cultural splendors.

Day 18: The last full day of the trip involves a walking tour of the old part of Budapest, called Buda, where kings were once crowned. After lunch the group will get the chance to relax in one of the famous thermal baths, enjoying the soothing, healing waters. The evening features a farewell dinner in a ''Csárda'', a typical Hungarian restaurant.

Day 19: After saying goodbye, our guests are transfered to Budapest Airport for their return flights.

*In the case of inclement weather, Day 10 will instead feature a visit to Nuremberg:

Day 10: We wrap up the tour with a visit to Nuremberg and the courtroom that housed the most famous post-war trials. After visiting the accompanying museum we venture into the city for lunch before touring the famous marching grounds, Zeppelin field and the party rally grounds that made Nuremberg the heart of Nazism. We travel back to Munich for a farewell dinner.
